Joseph Rizzo a.k.a. “DJ Riz” was born and raised in Brooklyn. His father bought him his first turntable at the age of 14. The other turntable came from summer job money that he had saved. Riz’s parents thought this was just a hobby for him. They were used to watching their son excel as a “3 sport athlete.” He started playing organized sports at the age of 8. In High School, Riz played Baseball, Basketball & Football. He was a “1st Team All-City Football Player” who later went on to star at Hofstra University. While his athletic talent was evident, his love for DJing & Music was rapidly growing. It was in college when Riz first started doing radio. He was DJ on the famous- 5” Hip Hop show at Hofstra with Jeff Foss. Furthermore, he did “The Hip Hop Spot” with Wildman Steve at Adelphi University. These 2 stations were instrumental in the late 80’s & early 90’s for numerous talents in Hip-Hop (Ed Lover, Dr. Dre, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Leaders Of The New School etc…) In 1995, Riz brought his DJing talents to WNYU Radio, Where he teamed with Mayhem and DJ Eclipse on a show called “N.Y. Live” & “The Halftime Show” in which they won “Best College Hip Hop Radio Show” at the Gavin Seminar in 1995 & 1997.

Riz was the tour DJ for MC Search (3rd Bass) appearing on the Arsenio Hall show. He was an original member of Funkmaster Flex’s “Flip Squad” DJ’s and appeared on different commercial radio stations as a guest DJ. Riz also won a 2 man DJ Battle in Chicago with DJ Skribble.

Chris was told by his mentor Roger Sanchez to build up his profile, and that is exactly what he is doing. With the success of “Work it to the bone”, ” I wanna freak you” and “One more time” Chris made his introduction. However with the release of his smash bootleg of the Justice/Simian Mobile Disco hit “We Are Your Friends”, Chris Moody demanded the scene’s attention. The bootleg brought all eyes on Chris, as it appeared in Tiesto’s top 20 of 2010. While Tiesto, Sanchez, and Swedish House Mafia are busy spinning the track, Chris is keeping busy in the studio remixing big projects for names like Roger Sanchez, Steve Angello, One Republic, and Tiesto… just to name a few. Chris has also been collaborating with Muzzaik ,Riz and Roxy Alex Guesta on an upcoming, highly anticipated EP.

With his infectious and signature drum sound, Chris keeps the dance floor begging for more. This year (2010) Chris showcased his talents to the Mecca of all things house- Ibiza, spinning numerous times along side Roger Sanchez during his famed 10th Anniversary shows at Amnesia. Needless to say, the inhabitants of the “white isle” went crazy over house music’s next big thing.

Already spotlighted twice on Sanchez’ radio show Release Yourself – which carries millions of listeners – there is much more to come from Chris, who has just begun work on his latest project, an upcoming album entitled “Chasing the Dream.”

After all of the guidance from Sanchez, it only seemed fitting that in 2010 Chris Moody signed to Roger’s own label Stealth Records. After such an amazing year in 2010, joining the Stealth Records family seemed like a perfect way to start 2011- a year Chris looks forward to taking over!

Hailing from Queens, NYC, Chris ‘s earliest interest in music surfaced on his fourteenth birthday when his father – a fellow musician – handed him a set of turntables and ignited his desire to become a DJ. “We worked private parties together”. He would sing and I would DJ. With this instilled in him, Chris embarked on a melodic mission working local clubs and parties while generating a reputation as a talented and dynamic artist that would gain him respect and forge his way into the music business.

By mixing at some of NYC’s most reputable dance clubs including Limelight, Roxy and Crobar – and holding down a four-year residency at the famed Webster Hall – Chris’s standing as a top-notch DJ had emerged and propelled him into collaborations with such prominent names in the industry as DJ Skribble. Before long Chris and Skribble were producing the hottest Saturday night dance party on 103.5 KTU, booking internationally acclaimed DJs such as Pete Tong, Todd Terry, and Jellybean Benitez. A contagious success, Chris produced the Skribble show for two consecutive years, airing six nights a week. But it was when Chris partnered up to produce with friend and fellow DJ, Adam Ruiz – better known as DJ Mada –that the young artist fused his creativity into club anthems such as “Blackout,” featured on Louie Devito’s NYC Underground Volume 3 – which sold nearly one million copies. Chris would later hook up with Devito to produce Deeper and Harder Volumes 2 & 3.

Mounting from the hottest clubs in NYC and Miami Beach to Spain’s pulsating island of Ibiza, Chris’s track record of titillating audiences intensified through his production, which still allows him to share the sounds of fellow musical masterminds with party goers around the globe and amplify the house experience to a greater capacity.
